A central theme of the TEAV hospitality concept is the involvement of local communities. TEAV hotel founders, Mr Sok Sambath and Mr Truong Khinnin, have ensured that hotel design, construction and ongoing operations includes as much local community participation as possible. Locally made and traditional handicrafts are extensively used throughout the hotel and local produce is used in the restaurant and bar. The hotel also provides hospitality training to staff and extensively recruits local talent.
“We believe that education can change people, who can improve society. We strongly support and offer opportunities to children to gain a better education.”
In addition to active sponsorship and fundraising activities, the TEAV hotel has partnered with Raffles Montessori International School (RMISPP), developed by TEAV co-founder Mr Sok Sambath, in Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE). The French non-profit organization PSE is dedicated to providing food, medical care, general education (from grade 1 to grade 12) and vocational training to maltreated, destitute Cambodian children.
Working with PSE, the TEAV hotel is actively reviewing opportunities to use a PSE laundry to service the hotel’s needs, and is seeking to purchase a PSE-owned bakery.
